Books

Eames (Basic Art Series) by Gloria Koenig. A compact, well-illustrated introduction to Charles and Ray Eames, the couple behind the molded plywood chairs, the Eames House and a great deal of what we think of as mid-century design. A good first book on the Eameses, and an easy one to keep on a coffee table.

Furniture

NessCarsti Mid-Century Modern TV Stand, Walnut (94.48 inch). A long, low walnut-toned media console in the classic mid-century silhouette: four doors, an adjustable shelf and plenty of hidden storage, so the clutter disappears and the room stays calm. Big enough for a 75-inch TV or larger, with a cable hole at the back to keep the wires out of sight.

LEPOWER Tripod Floor Lamp, Mid-Century Modern. A rubberwood tripod base and a round linen shade that turns the light soft and golden, the way a mid-century living room corner should glow. About five feet tall, with a foot switch so you can turn it on without bending down. It takes a standard E26 bulb (not included) and needs a little assembly.
